Beijing municipal government reportedly plans to control its motor vehicles' parc within 6.1 million units in 2018.
Based on the report from relevant governmental departments, in accordance with the original target, most of municipal and district-level projects of dredging roads have been completed so far. Concurrently, around 600 kilometers of cycle routes are preserved in well condition.
Officials from Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport revealed that in 2018, Beijing government aims to control the motor vehicles' parc of Beijing city under 6.1 million and keep the traffic performance index of center area around 5.7. Meanwhile, the percentage of green travelling is designed to reach 73%.
It is reported that the management of traffic jam will be the priority of Beijing municipal government in 2018. Departments of transport will set up regulations for ground parking to make sure overall vehicle numbers are below the limitation. They will accomplish to mark the parking spaces within the second ring road. Besides, to form a more integrated traffic network, they plan to establish the slow traffic system for bicycles connecting with the traffic organization surrounding subway stations.
