Chery Jetour first MPV said to be larger than Buick GL6

A local media outlet recently acquired the information about Chery Jetour's first MPV, the V70. The new model features a size between the Buick GL6 and GL8, and is slated to hit the market in 2020.

The V70 maintains Jetour's iconic U-shaped intake grille, which is connected with headlights. A large air inlet and a spoiler kit accentuate its sporty sense. The model features three-dimensional side waistlines and hidden-designed C-pillar. In addition, the Jetour V70 boasts abundant high-tech amenities, including fog lights, EPB, 8-inch screen and tire pressure monitoring system.

The Jetour V70 measures about 4900mm in length, around 1800mm in width and about 1710mm in height. What's more, its wheelbase is expected to be more than 2900mm, which is longer than that of the Baojun 730 and the BYD Song MAX. The new model is expected to be powered by Chery's third-gen 1.6L turbocharged engine with a maximum output of 140kW and a peak torque of 275Nm, mated with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission.

On January 22, Chery Auto launched a new sub-brand, dubbed Jetour, under Chery Commercial Vehicle. On May 29, the first smart showroom of Jetour brand rolled in Chengdu. The showroom optimizes the mode of traditional 4S stores, in order to improve customers' experience.
