NIO delivers 3,268 ES8s in Q3, with ES6 to be delivered from next summer

NIO delivered 1,766 ES8s in September, surging 57.5% compared with the previous month, according to the EV startup’s announcement. The ES8’s delivery totaled 3,368 units ever since NIO started the delivery at the end of June.

Xie Dongying, CFO of the automaker, revealed that the company equipped its second production line during the National Day Holiday to meet the ever growing market demands for the ES8. “We are glad that we delivered 3,268 new cars to our customers in the third quarter and we are on track to deliver a total of 10,000 ES8s in the second half of this year.

Besides, the ES6, NIO’s second mass-produced model will be delivered from next June or July, the CFO said. The 5-seater premium EV model will make its debut on December 16, NIO Day and the new model’s price will also be announced on that day.

It is reported that the front end of the ES6 would be similar to that of the ES8, but some details such as the headlights would be a little different. In the future, Jianghuai Auto will continue to build NIO’s second model.
